3,600 young people in Cheshire West and Chester benefitted from apprenticeships last year, an increase of 101% since the Coalition Government replaced Labour in 2010.
The big increase was welcomed by local Lib Dem campaigner Lizzie Jewkes who said, “The 101% increase in apprenticeships benefits both young people and local businesses. Liberal Democrats fought the last election calling for an increase in apprenticeships and we took that commitment into Government when the Coalition was created. It’s a tough world out there so the more we can train young people, the more we can get them into jobs and boost local businesses.”
