Carol Braithwaite and Jonathan Rule the Liberal Democrat candidates for the upcoming local council elections are campaigning for more resources to be allocated to youth services in Handbridge.
Carol is a long term campaigner on youth issues and is concerned about the situation in our community.
Since the closure of the local youth club, no new facilities or services have been introduced by the Labour run council
A youth street worker can identify issues early on and look for solutions where they are needed. A friendly non-judgmental approach has been shown to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve the well being of young people involved.
It is a win/win situation for everybody in the community. Carol Braithwaite said:
“Cutting funding to services for young people is a false economy. If elected Jonathan and myself will look for ways to increase funding in this vital area.”
