Newton ward: Mark Williams and Neil Christian
At a meeting held on Thursday 17th February 2011, candidates were selected for the new wards of Hoole and Newton in the May local authority elections:
David was a former city councillor on the old Chester City Council and has lived in Hoole for many years. David said: “I am honoured to have been chosen as a Liberal Democrats candidate for Hoole. I will continue to look after the needs of our area and hope to be elected as a councillor to work alongside Bob Thompson to promote the interests of all Hoole residents”.
Bob is the Liberal Democrat Councillor representing Hoole & Newton on Cheshire West & Chester Borough Council. Bob also lives in Hoole. Bob said: “It is a privilege to be chosen to represent our party once again. I look forward to meeting as many residents as possible and finding ways to make Hoole an even better place to live and work”.
Newton ward: Mark Williams and Neil Christian
Mark, who works for a major logistics company said: “I am really looking forward to this challenge. I relish the opportunity to campaign for the residents of Newton to improve the quality of life in the Ward”.
Neil, a local barrister said: “I want to thank Newton Liberal Democrats for giving me the opportunity to represent the party in the local elections. I look forward to the election campaign itself and will work tirelessly for the benefit of Newton residents”.
